In "Back soon" director Rob Williams explores the attraction between two straight men who unexpectedly fall in love. Logan is mourning the loss of his wife Adrienne and wants to sell their home, every room has painful memories of their life together. Matthew, a gay reformed drug dealer who has suffered a near-death experience, decides to purchase it. The two men become friendly and hang out together a lot. They share a strange connection but we don't know what it is yet. One night, Logan's car breaks down and he spends the night on Guillermo's couch. Logan dreams that his wife is inviting him to their former bedroom and stumbles into Guillermo's bed. But, rather than kick Logan out of the room, Guillermo returns his kiss and they make love. The next morning Logan doesn't want to talk about it and flees. Logan returns a few days later with a pizza and, in perhaps the film's best scene, they sit on opposite ends of Guillermo's couch and awkwardly try to figure out what's going on. "It was weird, but... good, wasn't it?" Logan asks. "Why don't we just eat," Guillermo finally says, "and see what happens." Oddly enough, love blossoms between them but then the film takes a really weird turn at Alburquerque for its last act, entering the realms of the spiritual and the metaphysical as we learn the real reason for their attraction. Do you remember "Ghost"?. Director and actors try to make it works and we appreciate their effort. Yet "Back soon" is a very nicely acted and filmed, the two leads are terrific together; they beautifully conveyed their confusion, their awkwardness, and finally their complete surrender to the situation that they have found themselves in. You will be charmed by watching these two attractive men fall believably in love. "Back soon" has been produced by TLA Releasing in 2007 and won the Alternative Spirit Award Grand Prize for best GLBT film at the 2007 Rhode Island International Film Festival; other films directed by Rob Williams are famous "Long-term relationship", "3-day weekend", "Role/Play". "Un chant d'amour" was directed by novelist, playwright and criminal Jean Genet (1910-1986) in 1950. The experimental short film (25 minutes, silent) about the relationship between two prisoners and a voyeuristic guard, is the only film made by Jean Genet (1910–1986), who explored new extremes of human experience in novels like Our Lady of the Flowers and plays like The Balcony. The prisoners are in complete isolation, separated by brick walls, and desperately in need of human contact, devise a most unusual kind of communication and dream about each other. "A song of love" is a milestone in the gay culture and has inspired dozens of artists and directors. It is a deeply romantic film where passion and homoerotism become a universal and trascendent love.

"Zero Patience" is a 1993 canadian film written and directed by John Greyson (in 1995 will direct an authentic masterpiece, "Lillies") which examines and refutes the urban legend of the introduction of Hiv to North America by a single individual, Gaetan Dugas, the "Patient Zero". Gay steward of a gay Canadian flight company, Dugas was a frequent visitor to the gay community in San Francisco, where he went every year during the Gay Pride. Discovered sick of this new and unknown disease, decides to live the time he has left having fun as much as possible and having sex with hundreds of men, without mentioning to anyone the disease that afflicts him. The film tells his story against the backdrop of an anachronistic romance between the famous explorer and sexologist Sir Richard Francis Burton (translator of the Kama Sutra and author of a study on the length of the penis) and the Patient Zero's ghost. Sir Burton who, thanks to the discovery of the fountain of youth in 1892, is still alive and is chief taxidermist at the Museum of Natural History in Toronto, is working on a study of the great epidemics of history; with an exhibit at the Museum he tries to prove that the origins of HIV come from a "patient zero". The ghost of Zero materializes at a local gay bathhouse and meets Sir Burton who attempt to seduce Zero to ensure his partecipation to the show, but Zero forces him to revise his ideas and to present his research in a different way. The funny "Zero Patience" has won the Best Canadian Film award at the Toronto Film Festival 1993.

"Bear Cub" (Cachorro) is a very famous film in the bear community directed in 2004 by Spanish director Miguel Abadalejo who put in the story more than one autobiographical page, in fact Miguel as the protagonist Pedro is a great activist in the Spanish gay community.
Pedro is an attractive gay dentist,
attends his bear friends, leads a carefree sex and love life until her older sister Violeta, in imminent departure for India with her new hippie lover, asks him to take care of grandson Bernardo. Pedro accepts, a bit reluctantly, deciding at the same time to change habits not to disturb his nephew and behaving like any heterosexual parent, between joys, concerns and many problems because Pedro does not want to give up his life and his friendships. But Bernard will be a "puppy" very mature despite his age, able to look to the adult world with an open mind and without trauma; the film, between drama and comedy, becomes a fun and profound reflection on family ties, the desire of paternity and the surprising wisdom of children. With english subtitles.
