Photographer and painter, Arsen Savadov was born in Kiev in 1962. Graduated from Kiev Art Institute in 1986, he lives and works in Kiev and New York. His outrageous works have always caused big stir wherever they have been exhibited. In the series Book of the Dead the models were often deceased persons placed inside the photographic set, their brutal presence reminds us of the brutality and ignominy of death.
