In 1962 the Supreme Court ruled that photographs of the male nude are not necessary offensive, this verdict didn't mean that now everything was possible. Some brave publishers printed first frontal nudes only in 1965. Walter Kundzicz's pictures marked the transition between the esthetic of the 1950's and hardcore and softcore of the 1970's. He published an incredible number of magazines (International Male Model Guide, Triple Pleasure, Hard and Able, Body and Soul, Deuce, Gay World, Male Tales, Naked Rhythm, Gemini, Gay Confessions, Nude Voyager...) bearing the signature of Champion Studio. Kundzicz retired definitively in 1985.

Steve Wengryn (vedi 30.3.11), uno dei più fotografati modelli negli anni '50, spesso posò in coppia con Eddie Williams, altro famoso modello beefcake. Come sempre, questo genere di immagini appare vagamente assurdo (ma quanto intrigante!), sappiamo che era l'unica maniera per aggirare la censura; l'unico modo per mostrare due uomini seminudi insieme.

Lo dimostra l'essere diventati i testimonial di una delle più celebri e intelligenti campagne pubblicitarie che da anni continua ad essere proposta a livello mondiale. Alexander Shaburov è nato a Berezovsky nel 1965, Vyacheslav Mizin è nato a Novisibirsk nel 1962. Le loro performance, i video molto divertenti, i collage che hanno spesso loro stessi come protagonisti, fortemente critici verso il potere e i luoghi comuni della cultura e della società, non hanno vita facile nel loro Paese ma sono presenti in numerose rassegne e festival d'arte (Biennale di Venezia nel 2005) in Europa e Stati Uniti; come l' opera che segue, proibita in Russia dal ministro alla Cultura Alexander Sokolov perchè giudicata pornografica.
