Bill Eld (o Big Bill Eld, e 'big' si capisce a cosa è riferito, oppure Bill Young) è stato un celebre attore porno tra gli anni '70 e '80; nato a Rochester, New York, nel 1945, ha girato oltre venti film (soprattutto per Colt) quando ancora sulla scena non si usava il preservativo. La maggior parte dei film non sono più disponibili, molte scene sono state inserite in raccolte dedicate al cinema vintage. Aveva un aspetto da 'ragazzo della porta accanto', ben lontano dai classici palestrati pieni di salute del periodo beefcake; perennemente imbronciato non sorrideva mai, in realtà per colpa di una larga fessura tra i due denti davanti, ma aveva tutte le ragioni per non apparire allegro. Abbandonato dai genitori all' età di 9 anni, fino a 12 passò da una casa famiglia all'altra subendo vari abusi, per finire chiuso in orfanatrofio fino a 18 anni. Nel 1968 si trasferisce a San Francesco, trova lavoro in una palestra, nello stesso anno inizia a lavorare in spettacoli porno etero dove gli attori ballano nudi e simulano rapporti sessuali. Sono film piuttosto brutti, girati con pochi mezzi e in posti di fortuna, come era tipico in quegli anni; recita soltanto in ruoli da 'top', si suppone fosse eterosessuale, Bill non ha mai voluto parlare della sua vita privata. Rimane nel business del porno soltanto per una decina d'anni, non si sa perchè abbia deciso di smettere nonostante fosse ancora giovane e ormai un'icona del porno, non si sa nulla della sua fine, su internet circolano varie versioni più o meno fantasiose.

In 1968 he moves to San Francisco, finds work at a gym and in the same year begins working in a live porn show where the actors dance naked and simulate sex. The shows (and the significant attributes) give him a reputation, Bill receives requests for photo shoots, movies and short videos sold by mail. It was the pivotal year of the changes in American law on censorship; the transition from soft porn to the hard porn is very fast. Bill changes his name several times, changes the appearance by growing a beard, decides to go to gay porn where is the man to be the focus of' attention, as he himself said. They are pretty bad movies, filmed with few resources in cheap motels, as was typical in those years; playing only 'top' roles, Bill is supposed to be heterosexual, no informations left about his private life. He remains in the porn business only for a decade, no one knows why he decided to quit despite being young and a true porn icon, nothing is known of his end.
