Laura Carboni, chiamata Zel, è un' artista di grande talento; 
ha iniziato a disegnare sin da bambina e ha studiato e lavorato come restauratrice di dipinti e manufatti in legno. Il suo primo lavoro è stato fare disegni per un' enciclopedia medica, poi disegno e grafica per annunci pubblicitari, libretti d'istruzione, brochure, manifesti, coltivando una segreta passione per l' illustrazione omoerotica, ispirata dai fumetti yaoi trovati su internet. Con la sorella Xel, disegnatrice anche lei, crea una fanzine di fumetti yaoi dal titolo "(K2C)", 1.000 copie circa per numero. La piccola rivista si ferma al quinto numero ma il nome di Laura inizia a circolare; 
la nuova serie di volumi "Boy+Boy" della Echo Communication di Milano pubblica sul primo numero il fumetto
"Like U". Dopo i positivi giudizi sul lavoro pubblicato, Laura inizia a lavorare a tempo pieno a fumetti per giovanissimi. Yaoi Press acquista i diritti per pubblicare "Come te" negli Stati Uniti con il titolo "Love Circles"; 
attualmente Laura segue molti progetti, le copertine per i romanzi di Tina Anderson (celebre scrittrice di romanzi rosa gay), il volume antologico della Yaoi Press "Yaoi Gothic", e ancora illustrazioni e copertine per i libri della collana tedesca "Fireangels".
Laura Carboni, called "Zel", is a very gifted artist; 
she has started drawing since childhood and studied and worked as a paintings and wooden works restorer. Her first commission was a medical encyclopedia, then drawings and graphics for advertisements, booklets, brochures, posters, secretly cultivating a passion for homoerotic drawings, inspired by yaoi comics discovered on the net. With her sister "Xel", a designer too, created a yaoi fanzine under the title of "(K2C)", 1.000 copies each number. The fanzine stopped at the fifth book but the Laura's name begins to circulate. The new "Boy+Boy" series by Echo Communication in Milan, a series of one shot comics of several Italian yaoi authors, publishes in the first issue the comic strip "Like U". After the positive response for "Like U" Laura starts working full-time on teen-agers comics. 
Yaoi Press bought "Like U" to republish it in U.S. under the title of "Love Circles";
currently Laura is working on many projects, the covers for Tina Anderson's novels, the first Yaoi Press artbook "Yaoi Gothic" as well as illustrations for several covers of books and artbooks from "Fireangels," a German publisher.
