L'amico di Pat Milo (vedi 28.5.11) Lyle Frisby aprì un altro negozio fotografico per vendere foto di nudo maschile, un tipo di business totalmente nuovo in California, ma Los Angeles non era ancora pronta per una cosa del genere; Lyle venne arrestato e rinchiuso in prigione per un anno. Pat continuò ad imparare il mestiere di fotografo frequentando lo studio di Bruce e a lavorare come cuoco. Nei primi anni '50 fanno la loro prima comparsa piccole riviste dedicate apparentemente al culturismo con fotografie di modelli e pagine pubblicitarie dei fotografi; la risposta all' annuncio di Pat fu così buona da fargli decidere di dedicarsi esclusivamente alla fotografia. In quegli anni (immediato dopoguerra) i modelli erano facili da trovare (nelle palestre, per strada, tramite gli annunci, e pagati solo 5 dollari) e la crescente buona fama di Pat gli diede la possibilità di lavorare anche con bodybuilders molto famosi come 
Larry Scott, Mr Universo nel 1964 e Mr Olympia l'anno successivo.
Pat Milo's friend Lyle Frisby (see 5.28.11) opened another street front studio selling nude male photos, an entirely new business there, but Los Angeles wasn't ready for that; Lyle was arrested and sent to jail for a year. Pat continued learning the photography business thanks to Bruce of LA and working as a cook. In early 50's made the first appearance small size physique magazines with photos of models and ads for photographers; the response to Pat's ad was good and allowed him to concentrate exclusively on photography. In those years (post-war era) models were easy to find (in the gyms, in the streets, with ads, and paid $5.00) and Pat's growing good reputation gave him the opportunity to work with many famous bodybuilders as Larry Scott,Mr Universe in 1964 and Mr Olympia in 1965.
