Tony Pearson is born January 1957 in Menphis, Tennessee, and grew up in St. Luis, Missouri. In 1976 at the age of nineteen he moved to California to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder. In Venice Beach he was discovered by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who became his mentor. His bodybuilding career as an international chamion began in 1978 winning the Mr. Los Angeles, Jr. Mr. USA, Jr. Mr. America, Mr. California (short) and Mr. America, the second youngest to win the title. Other bodybuilding competitions that he has won are the 1979 Professional Mr. World, World Championships, the 1980 Mr. Universe Professional, in 1981 was 3rd, in 1983 won the Denver Grand Prix, in 1984 was 3rd at the Canada Pro Cup and 3rd in the World Grand Prix, continuing to have prestigious results in international championships up to 1994. In an unprecedented winning streak, he won six Professional World Mixed-pairs titles with different partners from 1982 to 1988. In 2007 he was included into the Muscle Beach Bodybuilding Hall of Fame. In 2010 at the age of fifty-three he made a return as a Stage Guest in Holland. With the name Tom Craine, Pearson posed several times for famous male nude photographers Roy Dean (see 11.12.11) and David Carter. Actually Tony Pearson is a personal trainer and nutritional consultant in Los Angeles and in Europe.
