John Corvello won the West division of the AAU's Teen Mr. America contest in 1960, in 1962 was Mr. Junior California, in 1965 Mr. California and Mr. Northern California, in 1966 was 5th at the Mr. USA contest. He made two covers in 1965 and 1967 and ten years later, beautiful and muscular, posed naked for Norman Eales in Playgirl Magazine (cover and centerfold, February 1975) and for Roy Dean (see 10.31.11) in his photobook "A World of Nudes" (1975). After a career as a leading national competitor Corvello worked as a trainer and manager in a LA's health club. He had acting aspirations but with modest results, in 1983 played a basketball coach in "Max Dugan returns".
