"Demi-Gods" has been published by Young Physique Publications from March 1961 to March 1968; the magazine contained an average of 80 pages, young semi nude bodybuilders shootings by famous beefcake photographers as Les Demi Dieux, Kris Studios, Milo of New York, at a price of $1. Popular models and athletes were presented with imaginative titles: "Pour la Gloire", "The boys from Troy", "Caballero from Casablanca", "Bigger'n better'n ever!", the covers featured Larry Kunz, Richard Bennet, Steve Reeves, Dick DuBois, Steve Wengryn, Larry Scott, Frank Hollfeider.

In the early Sixties a series of unusual photos appeared in several physique magazines. They were attributed to Les Demi-Dieux studio, with a mailing address in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. The photos with a timeless fresh quality were the work of Danny FitzGerald.
In a genre dominated by monotonous cliches, Demi-Dieux' sensual images suddenly make old the style of so many of his contemporaries.
Until the advent of Colt Studio/Jim French Danny FitzGerald's photographs of the young men of Brooklyn were close to unique.

'Les Demi Dieux' (see also 3.10.11) worked with well-known models as Richard Bennet or Jerry Albanese,
as well as with local greased boys of Brooklyn, seated on their Buicks. Nothing helps to solve the mystery surrounding this photographer; the few pictures came to us with a signature on the back as used have the models autographs, not of the elusive author, and, of course, no stamp of the Studio. The most interesting pictures are those taken in a deserted Brooklyn, often bare-chested models look very romantic, almost dreamlike; we are very distant from the so diffused physique magazines in which conventional poses and similar gym-toned bodies, and all relative measurements,
make them seem trivial catalogs. The taste is changing, quickly moves away from the beefcake photos of the '50s and gifted Les Demi Dieux (along with
Champion) is one of the most representative photographers of this change but, oddly, his work isn't much requested by modern collectors.
