"Yossi and Jagger" is the story of two Israel Defence Forcest officers stationed on the Israeli-Lebanese border. Yossi is the units responsible commander, Lior, called Jagger, is the charismatic and liked by all second-in-command. In a remote and snowy location, Jagger loves Yossi; the secret romance between the boys is tender and moving, unfortunately too short. Jagger is to be released from his service in the Army and wants a commitment for the future from Yossi. One day a colonel arrives at the base to supervise a night-time ambush, Yossi fears for his soldiers' safety becouse it's full moon, Jagger is fatally injured and dies in the arms of his lover. At the funeral reception, Jagger's mother laments that she knew very little about her son, including his favorite song, only Yossi knows it was "Bo" sung by Rita. The script was based on a true story. The very beautiful film delivers a poignant message of youth and life even if death is always in the background for these soldiers. Directed in 2002 by popular director Eytan Fox, the film did not receive any production assistance from the Israeli Army. Actor Ohad Knoller won the award for best actor at the 2003 Tribeca Film Festival for his portrayal of Yossi.
